RULE #1: PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE
Basically, an interview is an opportunity for exchanging information, and for mutual marketing, assessment and fact-finding.
Once again, here's some simple steps to follow to ready yourself for an interview....
Confirm the place, time, day and date. Of your interview and possibly even enquire as to who will be interviewing you.
Allow enough timeto get to the interview, along with some extra time for unplanned incidents. This includes making sure that you have your internet access and web cam sorted, prior to the time, for web cam interviews.
Research the company and job in advance. Products, processes, services, ethics, values, culture, mission statement, growth, typical client profile/demographics.
Re-read the advertisement. Assess what you have to offer and memorize five or six key points.
Whether it's a face-to-face or web cam interview, make sure you present yourself in a professional manner. It's fine to be casual, but scruffy doesn't cut it in any industry.
Be true to yourself and your interviewer and you can't go too wrong. The interview is a chance for you to perform at your best, but not a place to act.
