RULE #1: PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE

Securing the job of your dreams, whatever it may be, starts with creating a tailored CV, an enticing Cover Letter and then feeling confident enough in your ability to successfully negotiate your way through an interview, if one may arise.

These simple steps will ensure that you secure an interview, reach a short list, and increase the number of jobs offered to you.

A FUNCTIONAL CV

Securing positions in the ski industry is becoming increasingly competitive and will continue to do so at a alarming rate. Therefore candidates need to start designing competitive resumes that stand out from the rest of the herd!

CV's are only designed to capture attention and get you an interview, so don't make it any longer than 2 pages. The essence of good self-marketing is presentation. You won't get a second chance to impress if your CV doesn't capture their interest initially.

Chronological CV's are antiquated and do not cope well with long complicated work histories, as you find in most seasonal industries. They are often predictable, boring and unimaginative.

THE KEY AREA'S TO APPLY TO YOUR CV ARE:

Contact Details • Objectives • Profile • Strengths • Work History • Qualifications

A Functional CV is most effective when tailored to specific industry. This is the format that BPP recommends.

  REMEMBER TO:

Write a Profile Paragraph
